Hi Kindergarten Families,

Highlights for this week:

Our fall parade will be on October 31st at 8:00am.  Students can come to school in costume.  Our fall party will follow the parade from 8:40-9:40am.  We will have a regular school day following the party.

Options for clothing for the rest of the day:

1. If comfortable, your child can stay in their costume

2. If you are attending the party, you can help your child change into regular clothes after

3. Your child can change into regular clothes after the party, but they must be able to put on these clothes independently.  (I will help tie shoes!)

Homework:

We will be sending home iPads on Monday!  Each student will have directions in their iPad bag about charging the iPad and how to connect to Wifi at home.  IPads will need to return to school the next day each time they are sent home. This is very important, as we use our iPads as a learning tool each day.

Monday iPad homework – connect to wifi at home & have your child show you their favorite app!

Thursday iPad homework – Wonders To Do list: read leveled book 2 times

Pumpkin patch field trip, October 18th:

We are excited to go to on our field trip on Wednesday! Please remember to send a disposable sack lunch and drink labeled with your child’s name. The weather is supposed to be nice, so please send a light jacket and comfortable shoes (tennis shoes or boots!)

Reading Folders – thank you for helping your child to return their reading folders last week!  Keep looking for them coming home in backpacks for reading homework.

Hi Kindergarten Families,

Highlights for this week:
It is fire safety week!  On Thursday, we will have a visit from the Arvada Fire Department.

We are also continuing to work in science using our 5 senses

Pumpkin patch field trip info, October 18th:
Jeffco connect is fixed!  Parents, you can go on to pay your $7.00 for the pumpkin patch field trip. Please return the yellow permission slip by Friday.  If you would like to join us as a parent volunteer, please read the info on the permission slip and check the box.  Thank you!

Snowy Days!
You can send kiddos with coats, hats, gloves and boots on snowy days.  Please do not send in snow pants.  We do not have enough room in our classroom for extra snow gear, and we do not allow kids to get super wet and roll in the snow outside during recess!  Thank you!

Friday Folders
Please return Friday folders on Monday.  You should have received your child's midterm progress report on Friday.  To streamline communication, please email me with any concerns, as I will email you with concerns.

Homework:
Reading Folders - we will start bringing home reading folders instead of a book bag 2-4 times per week.  The folder will have a leveled book for your child to read to you.  Please read the book with your child 2 times.  There will be a place for you to sign off reading with your child in the folder.

Happy October Kindergarten Families!

Your child's homework folder came home on Thursday with our first family homework.  The fall color walk homework is due by this Thursday.  Please return it in the homework folder.
